Developed an oil leak from the timing cover. Cleaned it up, replaced the balancer seal. Still leaking. Cleaned again, fired it up and watched the leak develop just above the oil pan in front of the brass T for the oil pressure switch and guage and the timing cover.

Pulled the timing cover.... It's a bigger version of a turbo buick timing cover. Amazing similiarities between the AMC 360 and the Buick 3.8. Well looks like the gasket blew out on the upper hole which would be the pressure side.

It's apart... New timing chain going in as well as a new oil pan gasket.

New timing chain installed and got a timing cover from Charlie as I broke a bolt off in the timing cover when removing the oil pump housing.  Got a mid-plate for the pump as well as new gears.  Primed the pump and got it all back together to find that I nicked one of the tubes on the radiator with the fan studs when I pulled it off with the timing cover.  Found that when I was filling the radiator up.  So the radiator is out and at the radiator shop to be soldered.  On the bright side of things, oil pressure is up and no oil leaks.

*Like* is not an appropriate comment.  It is simply a four letter word and two asterisks that signifies that you don't care enough to dignify the OP's words appropriately.  It's just a space filler that is almost obscene in it's lack of appreciation.  Kinda like you, in other words.

Got the Wagoneer back together yesterday evening. So far so good. Now we'll drive it a bit and see what else happens
