what is this?
« on: July 14 2012, 05:54:11 PM »
I went and got my exhaust welded back up this morning.  I still heard a "rattling" sound, and the guy said that it "sounded" like the harmonic balancer.  Anyway of confirming this?  Would prefer to fix before it gets worse.  I could post a vid if need be.  Thanks

Not sure what would rattle on a balancer.  Is it touching the crank sensor?

How loud is the noise?  Sometimes a cracked flex plate will sound like rocks bouncing around in a spinning bucket

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

Lol.  It sounds similar to "knocking."  Im sure this doesnt help though.  Im going to just make a video.  Maybe it'll narrow it down

Use a small piece of garden hose pressed to one ear and ear plug in the other.  The hose will help in isolating the sound.

Found the problem.  The bracket that supports the intercooler was completely off and just laying on top of the(sway bar?)  i found some screws and screwed it in.  Sorry for such unnecessary thread. :(
