I just upgraded the new Adobe Reader X (10.1.2) from a a older version I had for a few years.  Wow I can't believe how much faster it works now. It loaded a 400 page catalog in seconds not minutes like before. Also no more crashes in Firefox.  If you decide to upgrade make sure you unckeck any unwanted tool bars.
