Engine Oil Pan
«

I'm in the process of installing a poly mount at the drivers side engine mount position.I was wondering if someone had used the engine oil pan to support the engine weight (a board will be placed on a floor jack to displace the weight across the bottom of the pan) to perform this job.My concern is that I don't really know how strong the stock pan is and perhaps someone has done this before.Of course the engine is in the car.Any insite is greatly appreciated.

So you want to put a jack under the oil pan to lift the motor enough to put the new mounts in? I have never had an issue doing that - I used a 2x4 to distribute the weight a bit.
There will be more informed replies, but it worked for me.

I *think* I remember using 2 jacks, one in the front and one in the back, to distribute the load and make it possible to cant the motor a bit, but I can't remember exactly.
unlike Bill Clinton, I *did* inhale.
