Still tweaking.worki ng on the Cadillac.
This is a 92 Eldorado - 4.9l V8.
I have never checked the timing, so I decided it was time. (pun intended)
The factory service manual gave the procedure - sort out pins A&B in the ALDL connector - remove intake horn, exposing throttle bodies.
Once the pins are shorted on the ALDL - the dash reports "TIMING MODE". Cool!
Fired it up, and the timing was ~ 12.5 degrees - the label on the radiator support says it should be 10 degrees.
I loosened the distributor, adjusted it to 10 degrees, all is good.
I drove it after wards, and it seems a bit sluggish. Is this to be expected? Should I put it BACK to ~12 degrees for more pep?
