Do your homework on the 8 and 10 speed transmissions if they're applicable to what you're buying. Not sure when they started offering them.

Jeremy, I went from the new 2018 Silverado in my vids, to a new 2019 Sierra cab and a half to a new 2021 Silverado crew cab with the 6.5 box and 5.3 with the 6 speed and 3.42 rear. I towed a 22 foot pontoon boat for a client. It brought the rear down about an inch and from a power standpoint I didn't even notice it back there and never even bothered with tow/haul mode which I think increases the shift points.

Not enuf coffee earlier...didn't read into it enuf...lol! I used mine for doing moves for people as well. I supplied the truck/trailer and they supplied the muscle. I had plans on keeping the trailer for just that after racing, but the friend who's barn I kept it in sold the whole property to Ontario Hydro. It was a non working farm. Needless to say he doesn't work anymore.

The one I had was basic. 20 foot with a couple of interior lights and that was it. Think it was 6 grand with 0.9 percent financing. Truth be told, I was racing on credit. That real nice blue GMC 3/4 ton truck I had was on a loan as well. It was the 6.0 litre and hauled it pretty well. Just had to be patient coming up to speed getting on the highway. The 20 foot was a tight squeeze, but it fit and I'd use a tie down to strap for my big compressor to the rear bumper with rags between it so as not to scratch it. Your car is lower, so be careful opening the drivers door the first time. My door cleared by about the thickness of a piece of paper.

Okay, got a coffee into me now and my brain is semi working. I started hauling the trailer with a burgundy colored 1998 heavy half with the 350 vortec...don't try it. It sat level with the trailer on it but was sorely lacking power. I quickly sold it and bought that silver crew cab Silverado 2500 with the 6 litre that was stolen...and then traded it in on the blue GMC 2500.

Jeremy, check the tires on the new trailer you're gonna buy. One's on mine were nylon and cupped horribly in short order. Grabbed a set of good trailer tires and never looked back. Trailer I bought came from a place in Indiana.

Steve likely has a correct torque for the tranny pan bolts on his site and a correct sequence. I'm to fukn lazy to look. I'll make a friendly wager the rockers are leaking.
