I am pretty sure the 64 is the stock length and the 635 is a half inch shorter.  I have the 64 on my barn motor.

We were able to drive it onto the trailer.  :o
The few minutes we looked at it when we got home did nothing to support any theories to date.
Stuff spins freehand ok, the noise diminishes with the belt getting sprayed.
Once I get it quiet I'll get it good and hot, maybe apply controlled heat to the usual suspects sequentially and see if it will die. Harder to test your pump theory?

Yea, it might have stirred up debris in the bottom of the tank from running empty. The debris can than block the sock causing the shut down, than after it sits, the debris falls away. You have to see it on your pressure gauge when it happens. Otherwise, drop the tank. Also, the finer bits of debris could get to the fuel filter. Whenever I suspect this, I cut the filter open and check.
