Super Cobra Jet heads (or at least Cobra Jet).
From memory, SCJ heads are aluminum and were only produced a couple of years on a 429 only.I am unaware of 385 series Cobra jet iron. CJ FE motors were common. I can get info if you like.

One of the guys is currently building a 521 inch Fox body. i do not believe there is a lot of difference in the iron heads as far as intake. The exhausts are typically poor. Valve sizes are small and easy to fix.

When building 385 series FoMoCo be aware the oem retarded cam timing 9* in 1971. All fords were retarded, even the Lima 4's. They did it with the timing set.

.............. ... I don't have windows 10 available to me yet. I'll find a way to resize the pics though.
Win 7 will resize as an option in one of the two photo viewers.
I am on win 10 now after a lightning strike and unable to give more specific info.

Stoddard solvent. I have used it for 50 yrs. Clean the stuff that settles to the bottom and top it off every couple of yrs.

Tim, i am curious how many rpm can you get at the line? 2 step off. Yes, I understand it is not beneficial.

Note your RPM's on the line have increased. Wonder how that happened...
The converter was discussed at length in one of Tim's threads. The actual stall is quite high. From memory, about 5k @ WFO/full boost. He could probably go 4500 with more boost off the line. I would guess, he has tried higher stall and the short times went to crap.
Have a good day guys.

The cone and the clutch style were both oem GM. Never saw a cone type 12 bolt. Never saw a cone type Chevy 8.5 or 8.2. Some Pontiac/Olds were cone type w/8.5 rears. Both styles were considered 50% bias.

Auburn produced cone type as soon as they could. They sold a high bias (75%) cone type, but I have no experience with them.

I have used the Yukon 'Eaton" style and they work. I refuse to have an opinion about increasing the preload. If you need a spool, get one.

Update-I have taken a clay bar to the horizontal surfaces and glass twice. I was finally able to see some of the surface contamination the last time. The clay glides both times. Not done. I feel like the previous owner waxed on a schedule or when he felt it was necessary. Most do. If you apply wax on top of surface contamination, it will not last. Whoever tries to fix this will have grief.

No pics, the car will have to be outside from here. Nothing but glare inside.

Barn find. Car is worth more $$$ like that ! :cool;
It is a barn find. I found it in my 'barn', right where I put it. 23 yrs ago. It still has a 'vintage' 1996 state inspection sticker in the window. It was covered for 19-20 yrs. I do not remember how many different covers. Some number. When car covers get crusty, they can damage paint.

thanx-
After the baggie test, I now believe it will take about half as long as I originally thought. Buildup on the glass and horizontal surfaces is moderate. Buildup on the vertical surfaces is light. The previous owner put wax on top of wax, evidently. People curious about this journey-

Someone w/ulterior motives once told me 'jealousy is a self fulfilling prophesy' so....
Man, you have nice toys..........
maybe I should just cut to the chase and proposition my banker.

And I like to build things

I am glad you do. To be honest, my imagination does not go that far.
I sure would like to make one hot lap though the nearby small town. Just to see if, the local Barney would self administer a sobriety test.

That's cute, alright.
What substances were involved in the decision to street this thing?
