General Buick Tech / Re: Front suspenion work
« on: October 17 2012, 05:35:22 PM »
A shakey steering wheel is usually driving on tires that need to be balanced. You will notice it when your driving on the highway. First thing I would recommend would be shocks and springs. All those bushings and ball joints on the front control arms add up really fast. Labor is killer if your getting it done at a shop and most places will charge you extra to allign the front end cause of the extra work needed. Some will charge you but not properly adjust the alignment. Good luck

General Buick Tech / Re: Standard Rear vs Variable Rate cargo rear springs
« on: September 27 2012, 05:06:19 PM »
I took my Eibachs off after I redid the rear suspension my 28s where sitting awful close went with the Moog Cargo coils variable weight. As long as there is a good bar on the back car will be fine. I stayed Variable weight since the Eibachs were a variable weight spring too. just wanted to pick the car up a couple of inches. Took the Eibach off the front when I redid the front supension too.

General Auto Tech / Re: dealer mark-up....criminal
« on: April 11 2012, 03:30:40 PM »
Gm isn't that bad but I have friends who work part counters!! Ford on the other hand are criminal for replacement parts. I'll give one of many stories. Last yr was debating on trading in my 08 Fusion for a F 150 truck. My Fusion has aftermarket 18"rims and tires. Well they tell me it's going to cost them $900.00 to replace the tires on my stock rims that I held on to. Cause when trading a car in they want it to be stock looking. Well I still have the car but have a 2011 Silverado!!

Yeah its going to be one for the books but I think you are right. It will probabbly take seven games for the Flyers to beat the Sea Pigeons!!
Im pretty sure New York will sweep the Crapitals and Boston will take care of Business. I just want the Flyers to get that 4th seed so if they do win the series it will keep them away from the Rangers until the Confrence finals. Thats a big IF....

General Buick Tech / Re: Leak from the fuel rail?
« on: April 01 2012, 09:53:38 PM »
Well I pulled my fuel rail today and saw a chunk missing from the O ring. Apparrently this happened while the O ring was in the cup. The piece of rubber that was shaved off fell out. I ordered a Oring kit from GM it was only $15.00 comes with all the Orings for the Injectors and the FP regulator.

Yep it still goes lower... I don't know why the Leafs fans havent killed the ownership yet. We would have
tourched the stadium down if this was the crap they were putting in front of us and calling it a Hockey Team all these years. Sorry for the touchdown the Flyers scored last night on the Leafs but it was a great game to watch on my end. Go Flyers!!

I highly recommend Eastwood Extreme Chasis Gloss Black the stuff sticks to everything well worth the money. The Amazon Prime membership is great especially if you have a Kindle!!

Would the Orings be the same size as the stock injectors? I know the OD would be what about ID.
Yes the O rings were hit with a little bit of Vasoline when I installed them. I'll let you guys know what I find this weekend when I pull them off.

General Buick Tech / Leak from the fuel rail?
« on: March 29 2012, 06:05:24 PM »
So got done putting my engine back together on my WE4 hook up the battery today to set the TPS, so I turn the key to the accessory position. Smell fuel and the #2 injector is wet. Looks like it's leaking from atop it. I put 42lb injectors in cause the stock injectors were falling apart when I removed them. The 42 are used but the Orings looked pretty good. Used some vasoline to seat the injectors in the cup. Before I rip the rail off what should I be looking for so I can get this fixed. Thanks

General Buick Tech / Re: Lighter socket
« on: March 28 2012, 10:10:21 AM »
Everything I got at home practically uses a USB charger. I have a factory USB connector on my new Silverado and it looks sharp and clean. I wonder how much GM is asking for one of those puppies from the Parts Dept??

I've been looking around to see if I can find a USB socket to hard wire into the car. My lighter in the GN is good for one thing. Blowing a fuse!!

IHADAV8 Playground / Observation I saw on TB's today
« on: February 03 2011, 11:43:18 PM »
I was looking at the board traffic and it's got listed 200-250 people on there but as you can see the posting has dropped significatly on most of the
sections. Yet you look at the Timeout room and there is like 80 plus people in there.
Just makes me curious as to wether they the "Owners" are adding traffic to make like that board is still going strong. possibly padding numbers to show advertisers.
Oh well I'll go crawl back under my MAGNA rock and keep watching the snow melt!

General Buick Tech / Re: Waterpump bolt ?
« on: January 18 2011, 10:02:02 PM »
Since it's so close to 4 1/2 do you think it would be safe to go with a 5" bolt
or would 4 1/2 be fine. With the bracket and another washer that will add about 1/4" spacing??? Thanks Ed!!
One more question would adding this bracket affect the torque specs on the bolt? I know its not that tight maybe 20lbs on the waterpump.
