General Buick Tech / Re: Saving ecm memory

They work to save ecm and radio clock settings for a car battery replacement. I'm not sure how log it will hold, maybe a hour or two.

Excellent movie. I remember the rivalry on TV and magazines back then. I don't recall any of the politics. I guess with both buying ads and being sponsors it was left out.

Correct any #1227148 will work. Only problem, I doubt they will come with the correct Calpac chip you will need. You will have to find  GM pn#16036503 or 16036504 as both are discontinued.  I haven't messed with ecms in a long time so Im not sure if they bypassed the calpac when they modify the ecm for injectors or powerloggers.  Good question for Eric or Steve Wood

Dyno results are tested in  final drive  1to 1 in 3rd gear  or what ever your final 1 to 1 gear is.  Changing tire height, rim size or footprint  can all be lost accelerating from 1st gear to the final drive 1 to 1 street driving.   19" rims may look cool but suck trying to get out of the hole with a car that has any type of power.  That few HP gain that's still in a given margin of error doesn't mean squat in real word driving.   Taking the car to the track and change  tires, tune, fuel, carb/turbo and chassis will give you more useful data and results.

I doubt 20hp unless a major weight difference between tire and rim.

Tire/wheel weight would have more effect unless the tire size is a radical difference.  Air density from time of day would have more effect on results.

I found over the years not to trust diagnostic flow charts for powermasters, coils and maf sensors.  Having a known good one on hand works best to prove your find.  I agree with Steve and prefer vacuum brake setup.

Could be the motor and or pressure switch, most likely switch.  I don't have a clue whats available these days and sure prices are crazy. At this point in time I would do a conversion to vacuum or hydro-boost.

Steve I had the same issues with ARC on both LG and Samsung and went back to optical. Bottom line is your TV's bells and whistles only work if they match the program source. Many channel still broadcast in 480p. That's VCR quality. You can upstream that all you want and it will still look like shit. Lucky here in the NY city region the cable providers are up to date with most service. But go 100 miles away and you will struggle to fine anything above 720 service.

If your over 50 the picture and sound doesn't  matter much. You cant see or hear most shit anyway. Look for
the most HDMI and USB slots.  Also base it on the service you have,
most don't provide 4k. Also only thing in 4k is Dumbo and some nature
shows. But back to what I said you cant see the difference anyway.
Netflix and Amazon downstreams 99% of all content in 720 or sometimes
1080. If they say 4K you get it at 720 unless you live in the big
city that has fiber to carry the signal.I had good luck with Sony, LG andSamsung And usually get good sales on them.

Buick Events / Re: Paul Ferry takes over Buick GS Club GSCA
« on: August 20 2019, 10:54:52 AM »
Bennett Jones owned the GS Nats and Richard lassiter the GSCA.  Dallas Jones owns the track.Today as per postings lassiter runs ( maybe owns) the GS Nats and Paul Ferry took over the GSCA.If Paul can sort all this out it would be good for Buick owners.  But with lassiter still in the picture

The way I understand it Paul gets and runs the gsca club and Richard L. still keeps and runs the GS Nationals. I wish Paul a lot of luck and credit. He is a great guy. Not sure how the Nats with improve with Richard still in charge. Time will tell.
