ok i finally recieved my wb kit an searched where to put this sensor..
so far 12-18"  away from turbo   then i read no because the plug wires will cause interference put it down near the slip joint ???
now just so you know i run a 3.5" dp so space is really limited
where is the best place for this thing

I never saw any problem with plug wire interference nor heard of anyone that did, but, obviously, I have not heard from everyone :D

The further away you put it, the longer it will last as they don't like extreme heat.  The Bosch sensors are even more sensitive than NGK's (and less lead tolerant as well).

You can put it down at the bottom as long as you are a few inches back from joint so as to reduce any possibility of air being sucked in past the joint...that could cause it to read leaner than it actually is...on our cars, with a single outlet, that may be less a problem than with true duals with more pulse in the pipes.

At any rate, I would stay back a bit.

The main consideration is the harness routing.  Make sure you can connect everything and get the harness back inside the car as needed.

May want to use a band clamp if you are close to the slip joint - might reduce the chance of getting fresh air sucked in.

I get them from Rock Auto - Wagner brand.

I used them when I gutted the cat on the Eldorado. Put a bunch of torque on it, and is just conformed to every detail of the pipes. It was a butt connection. I am going to use them over the standard ubolts that were used previously on the Cotton's 3" on the GN.

If you look around enough, you can even find those band clamps "stepped", so as to make an even better seal.

Yes, those pictured are actually for a butt-joint
in case folks didn't realize. I did my whole car with the step variety. Local truck supply only had the 2.5inch in galvanized for some reason?
