When you're measuring the meat whistle where do you start at???
 
I'm guessing the small of the back is incorrect.

I have heard that you use a tape measure and hook and pull from the bottom hole.

That method would net me 6 to 8 2/3 inches less, and I'm afraid I would bend over too far and roll away like a scared armadillo.
