Engine appears to be clean...in and out. Heard lots of good things about Jimmys transmissions off the other board. Those convertors ain't cheap...and have a low slip percentage when locked...bout 5%. Ya' done good.

Well - we installed the recently purchased transmission in the 87 T over the last 2 nights. Finally broke down and bought a trans jack from Harbor Freight. How the hell did I ever install a trans without one? Still a PITA.

I have to say.. WOW. This thing shifts HARD. Barks 2nd just as hard. I think I need to adjust the TV cable - but boy, this is an entirely different car now. :)

I am worried about the u joints and such now. Now to fix the exhaust leaks, and turn up the boost!  :rock:

My son wrenching on it (Yes, it's on jackstands - they are behind the front wheels) The floor jack is there for added insurance...

It's fun to watch him work, figure things out, etc.

I do need to adjust the TV cable.. Snaps your neck when it shifts.
