Sorry to see him go.  He was one funny Mutha Fucka.  I'll never forget signing up for Columbia House records (for just $.01) at 10 years old just to order his albums.  I had to listen with my ear to the speaker so my parents wouldn't find out.

I think he was in pretty rough shape. Remember his role in Lost Highway? He looked like shit in that and that was years ago....
