Charles I have a damn near new TE44 that I could let go for $600. It was rebuilt with new wheels and housing by John Craig and I put about 300 miles of use on it before going to a TE45a.  Let me know if you want it. I'll get you pics

Have you any idea how hard it is to come up with a 'first' anymore???     Where does one even get a giraffe and/or a large scale model of the Death Star that's impervious to various oils?

He is/was doing State Vehicle Inspections.  North Carolina checks a lot more than just brake lights. I would think it is a state requirement to be insured to do that.

I would call the NCDOT and say you were thinking about having emissions work done there but you'd like to make sure he's insured and has all the correct certifications .  I would imagine that info has to be pubicly accessible. Much like how fast food places have to have their inspection ratings in plain sight.

I wish you the best, Clay!  But with the way Brian is talking it doesn't look good.  And I like how Micale's Army jumped in there, what the hell does he have to do with anything?

If I have my history correct.  Cajuns have some Canadian heritage.  Technically because I'm black I don't have that heritage in my blood but because I've grown up immersed in the Cajun culture I'm sure it has rubbed off on me.  What I have learned from other experiences in life is that when situations get intense and emotions start to drive your actions your best ally is a calm head.  He who thinks clearest when shit is hitting fans usually comes out of said shit storm cleanest.

I actually have more content to add to the thread should Brian make false claims with his replies.  I've tried to keep my responses on point and on topic.  I had to stop myself from meandering on a post or two.  Its hard to not say some things sometimes.  There is more.  On a side note: If anyone has a cell number for John Spina please pm it to me.  I feel like shit because I missed him at the office today.  The cell number I had on him has changed.  He won't mind. We are rather tight.  I have to thank him for his generosity and I'm sick right now that I may have to wait until Monday.

Damn Clay, thats super nice of you. Please DO let me know.  I was gauging how much to donate towards your roller, and if you can save me some more $, it can just towards the donation.  The guy that I'm working with has agreed to make the plates himself, but the only thing he wouldn't be able to re-create IS the header panel.  Thanks a lot. I will continue to watch this thread closely

Phil I would MUCH prefer if you got your guy to make the parts.  Use whatever money you were thinking of donating to me to go towards the cost of that guy making the parts.  This way I can give my kit to TurboPower68 and prevent 2 sales of that kit from GBP.  It is yours if your guy can't do it but if he can then lets make a point to GBP.

EDIT:  I just caught up reading everything and see that you've already donated money.  I wish we could have facked him out of two sales.  I'll get what I have together, let you know whats missing, and get it out to you.

I just checked the price on those pieces..... Im between a rock and a hard place because we didn't know how bad it was UNTIL we took the shit off. T-Top parts are damn near IMPOSSIBLE to find, and its insane that the T-Top components will cost me almost $1k in parts, with no more than 30 lbs in total weight. I really want to get rid of this car, but admire the WH1's.

Phil, let me check before I commit to this but I may have the complete kit and I'll give it to you to prevent you from buying it from him.  I remember him losing track of at least one of the pieces while I was there but it wasn't a big issue because he was going to grab what he'd lost from my kit out of his inventory.  Maybe all the parts came back together maybe not.  I'll make you a soft promise of checking tomorrow and letting you know.  I have a lot of chit to do tomorrow so it may be the next day.  Even if the kit is incomplete the part(s) that are missing wouldn't be hard to fabricate as they were on the simple side of the design.

If Phil doesn't move on this i will.
i haven't taken mine apart yet but i have a good idea of whats waiting for me.
   

I should have stated this.  I planned to offer it to you if Phil decides a different route.  I offered him first because he declared need first.  I don't care who gets it as long as it prevents GBP from getting the sale.  Maybe it needs to be sent to China to have knock offs made.
