Friends T Won't Stay Running
« on: April 05 2011, 09:11:39 PM »
My friend's T is having issues, it wants to stall.  It was running fine, then suddenly it wanted to die...he had to ride the brakes at stops to keep it running and limp it home.

He as able to idle it for a few minutes today:

AF 04
L8 23
Btry 14.1
INT 129
BLM 130
MPH 0
CLT 121
ATS 65
RPM 675
TPS .42
IAC 175
CC 200
MAL 0
AF 05

Idle air control valve?

if he keeps it running until it warms up to 160 degs, do the iacs come down to normal?

That is the odd ball looking number at the moment.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

He said he checked them all, but we'll take another look this weekend when we get a chance.

Try cleaning out the IAC with carb cleaner and a Q-tip.  Worked for me.

the iac is a pulse driven solenoid so yes, the iac

You unscrew the old one and screw the new one in...be sure to only snug it down as I have seen people crack the plastic housing by leaning on the wrench
