so I took mine off an noticed a plastic type flap inside it any ideas what its purpose is?
I have a custom aluminum one I was going to replace the plastic with till I noticed this flap thing

I'm not sure the early cars had that.
My understanding that it was added to reduce foaming in the fluid.
