Transmission issues
« on: December 08 2011, 11:20:59 AM »
Ok I know this does not belong here but need to ask.

Have a VT25E and need a belt/chain for it have seen pricing from 250 to 750 for it, looking to find one. Anyone know who has them and why the big price difference.

These where all new pieces not used tested ones.

Thanks AJ___

Don't know if this will help or not AJ but this is the search engine I use and it may be able to help some. It doesn't have near as much crap as google or the others have.:)

Yup known for the issue, class suit a while ago.
There was no issues with it at that time etc.

Well it went and snapped, so need another one to replace it.
I know it will only last so long, not a big issue since it is a pretty simple trans to work one. No sure why the price is so high for rebuild etc. Just a ridiculous price.

And so is the belt for that matter and over the place in price.

Takes about 1.75 hours to get it out and that is mainly because you have to fight with the cage nuts and mess with the starter nuts unless they break and then you are into another issue. As far as pulling the case apart and cleaning it out checking the electronics, 2 hours tops. Put it back in maybe an hour. And I have never had one of these apart before.

Still looking for a belt/chain local if possible. Not looking promising.

Thanks Charlie

Google really messed me up since they messed with the way I could search.
No luck with that search locally either.

LOL That's why I use searchalot.com . Much less BS and usually better results that you can use.:)
