Title: Richard Clark's

Anybody here going next week?

I sure wish I was going.  I really enjoyed the Texas Nats where I got introduced to some of you and would think it would be just the same if not better out there in NC.  I was stationed at Bragg for 3 years back in the early nineties and would like to go by there too

If I could I would Gary. If you go tell me and I'll see if I can ship some treats your way.

I'm going, everyone claims it's something to see.  I'm trailering Marley's car, he didn't want to drive it and I felt like getting out of town!

Send me an address Gary. :D You want ribs or a brisket? The links are included. Make sure to stop at Ray's place and share though.

It is impressive ( believe I posted the pics). A couple of locals are headed down. It will be a last minute decision for me.

You have the shop address??? Don't go out of your way, but you're making me hungry. I think Ray would be a bit out of the way, but I'm going to call him and see. This will probably be the northern version of my Buick get-a-way. Another Texas trip may have to wait til next year. Plus, I'm forced to spend quality time with the wife next February at Daytona. Infield RV spot off lake Lloyd.

Gonna send Ribs and links Gary. I'll see about getting them shipped at the beginning of the week so you get them on time. And I don't have the shops address so PM it to me.

He was busy, but Bison was at our Cecil race last year. I was a bystander when he was advising on one of the cars. Said hello and chit chat, that's about it.

Spoolfool knows I'm sending a care package to you and I know he'll want some if they make it. He's the  one piece bumper filler guy so you might be able to get a discount. :D Ribs and links in the freezer now and the ribs were a bit of a pain to pack. They were falling off the bone.

My real concern is if they get here in time. I met Mike at Kirban's last year, I'll find him.

I agree. I'm sending then next day and leaving the house at 7 to get to the depot at 8 so they get the best chance of getting there. If they do you owe me some butterscotch krimpets. I can get kandy kakes but no krimpets down here now. :013:

Staying at one of the local hotels. I think a bunch of us MAGNA guys are at one of the Holiday Inn's. We're loading the trailer tomorrow.

Well UPS screwed the pooch on this one. Package was delivered to facility at 9:30 in the morning and it states on the page that it's next day. Delivery is set for Wensday at 3 PM. :013: I really hope someone's there to get the package and you can enjoy it when you get back. :icon_redface:

The good thing is it got there before it thawed out, and since they screwed up I'll be getting a refund.

Thanks Charlie. Like David said, I know you put a lot of effort into it. I wished you and Ray could have been there, it was an awesome experience. As you and I discussed, it will save for our MAGNA meeting at Carlisle GM Nationals. Thank you again.

It's 1 AM PA time and I'm exhausted. We left the track in North Carolina at 4:00. Once again, we sat in the rain and didn't even get a pass. Marley was disappointed and so was I. The only negative though was driving with a car in a trailer for 16 hours when we could have just brought my 02 Regal for alot less money and drove in more comfortably.
That being said, I had an awesome time. I would say all the key Buick people were there, but I didn't see Steve Wood!!!! Anyway, met and spent time with Bob Bailey, Richard Clark, Bobby Allison, XRay, John Spina, Mike Bernard,  Dave (Daveismissing) our MAGNA bunch and so many other people I can't recall.
I'm going to try over the weekend to get pictures together, Dave took a ton also and I hope he posts them up.

You have no idea how I would love to have all of us together at least 1 more time Gary. I consider you, Greg, Ray, and Jason all my brothers and hope we can all get together soon. HOOAH!!

Thursday at breakfast Dave asked me to listen to his car and see if I could figure why it sounded bad. I'm thinking, Cal Hartline's there, Richard Clark's there, my ego was overflowing. So we take it up the road and after a block or two I tell him to pull off, I have a secret formula, until now haven't shared with any one else. Instantly sounded like the day it rolled off the showroom floor.........

Up until now, we were just having fun. Now it's serious, He's near Erie PA dead in the water along side the road. I'd get him in my trailer if I have to, but I'm 5 hours away.

Yea, we were having a blast all week. It's what happens when we drive @30 year old cars. My 69 442 only let me set once when the starter went out. Dave's car is 200k. Here's what actually happened when we were on our way to Richard's Thursday AM. He and I were glad we were this close to a gas station, we blew it off and had our fun as you can see. May have started the latest issue.

Maybe the hood latch coming off in my hand during the second fill-up on the way down was a sign....

Will be scooting down midweek with a trailer to bring it home.
Died up just beyond a combined car insurer+CAA tow distance

I want to thank the Buick community for their support, the phone has been steadily ringing.
Guys were willing to drop everything and rescue me, Pyro, Moreboost, Limey Sean and more.
Heck , Gary was calling me to let me know he had to go potty and couldn't take my call for the next few minutes. :)  In this situation I amazingly had multiple solutions offered to me.

Don't ask me about symptoms, pissing rain, tractor trailers vortexes knocking me on my arse,
figuring out how to keep my phone charged so Haygertee could call me to tell me why they haven't found a tow or why there are no rentals avail - pretty much tied me up.

Shitty deal, but it makes for a story - a good story once time passes and the ache is forgotten.

Keep me posted on Hagerty and how they deal with this - got a few cars under their care.

I don't have a trailer (or truck to pull one either), but if I can lend a helping hand in any way....just let me know.

thanks

Dave glad your back home but without the car it seems like a PITA all over again.
I just last week switched to Hagerty but whenever there has been a situation with cars or business in the past Economical was Excellent with customer service so I hope Hagerty gives the same quality of service?
I guess the savings with them will help cover my CAA dues.
