Title: windows dont work??

so   im trying to put this car together an now the power windows dont work pass or drivers    everything else seems ok so far
i have power to the red wire on the switch connector
is there i way i can bypass the switch so i can roll the windows up?

I don't have power windows so I'm not sure what it looks like but a jump wire from 12v to the window motor is where I would start if you just want to roll em up.

ya tried that applied power  directly to the motor wiring an nothing   either side?

Does it have a good ground? Might be some corrosion in there to see about. If you take the motor out will it "bench test" successfully?

Might have two bad motors. I don't know the history but if this car has been out with the windows left down you have some work ahead i would guess.

The wiring to the motors floats so it  can be reversed, you need two connections
at the motor ground and hot

I would expect one of them to jerk or act like a short at least. i doubt they are both dead. Mine are both originals.

ok   using a test light   i have power to the switch..    i also have power going to the motor both sides when   switch is applied in that direction.
took out the motor applied power to the connectors   an nothing happens ?
question though why would both be bad?
what am i missing

IIRC there is a thermal cutout on the motor itself  that goes flakey:

i tore my motor  apart last night cleaned  the   brushes actually   cleaned it all     put it back together an  t works..
there was so much grease an oil around the   brushes an on the shaft the   brushes  ride on.
