I just wanted to stop by to say hello to all that remember me. Thank you all for all the help, and I do mean all. I still have the Buick, and its not going anywhere. It seems like life events have tried to part the two of us over the many years of our relationship. None the less, we are still together. I have a lot to do to it, but I will get it together. Currently im dealing with government furloughs, but its only one day per week..... Its nothing permanent and should be over Sept 30. Anyhow, my cousin Phil is always on and telling me about you guys so I thought Id come and poke my head in and show some love. Thanks for always being there guys. I wish I could paste this on the other boards, but that don't feel right even on the top layer of my heart. lol
Thanks
Charles

Oh came here because I think most of the folks probably migrated over to this board from the other board. I still poke my head over there too.

He has risen from the dead!!
-
I aint dead fool! hahahahaha You were just over my house yesterday. lol
-
BUICK-LY speaking, you were dead. Its all good tho man. Now the board can see you alive first hand, maybe they can say something cool enough for you to stick around!!! Go check out the joke thread, or maybe even the dirty picture thread!! :chin:
-
let me find it. lol
-
Pretty sure he IS dead, but risen is risen! You don't have to be working on your Buick to come over here and get picked on!
-
I told em that Steve. Lol.

Mr. Wood, you are absolutely right. I have had so much going on this past year..... Custody issues, ex wife issues, and on a good note, I purchased my first home in St. Louis. Life is good outside of the furloughs. My wife has 1.5 years left in nursing school at UMSL. So im waiting on that. I told her that my buick is going to be fixed to NEW condition and then some when she is finished. She is the coolest....... .. Anyhow, good hearing from you. And my cousin Phil is always on my case.

Glad to see you on again Charles. I was wondering how you were doing the other day.

Charlie, have you been on this board the whole time or did you come from one of the other boards. Have I met you in one of my half dozen locations I have lived? I have met more than a few folks from the board. I even met a board member while tdy in Charleston SC, but forgot his name. :(
-
good to see ya, charles!

Congratulation s on the new home! That is great! :)
How much longer does the wife have to go to finish nursing school? Tell her to go borrow some more money and get a Masters. Then she can rake in the big money and fix that Buick for you :D
-
I'm on several boards and mod 2 of them Charles. I even loan myself out on the 301 garage as tech help since very few people understand the old draw through systems.

Thanks Steve! I'm loving the house.... she has a year and a half and she will be finished with her bsn. She wants to do anesthesia once she is completely finished. But she is unsure if she wants to be a crna or anesthesiologi st. Of course one is in the nursing track and the other is md. I'm not sure what she will end up doing, but at any rate she will be working for already a couple of years before going back.

Ok. What's the 301 garage?
-
The 301 garage is a site dedicated to the 301 Pontiac and 80-81 TTA cars Charles. The owner of the board is in DFW and he knows quite a bit about restoring them but very few of the guys over there know much about modifying them. :O One guy finally made his turbo into the TE-62 DT (draw through) and didn't quite understand that you can't just bolt on a turbo and go without changing other things.
He finally got a higher stall converter and roasts the tires at will from a stop up to 50 MPH. The learning curve is great if you want to restore a car but the performance curve is low but they're catching on at least.
-
I see. Thanks for the education! I think Phils dad has a late 70's early 80's TA. The smokey and the bandit style.
-
Well if it's powered by a 301 tell him to look up the site and join Charles. He might just learn a few things about his car.
-
It's the 81 with the turbo on it. He hates the motor in it. Complains about that being the biggest mistake pontiac made. I think its the 4.9?
-
He really needs to come visit the 301 garage then Phil. One of the members over there is competing in NHRA class racing, and winning, and another is building a 400+ cid engine out of a 301 block. Kevin (Canadian Nascar) followed the info I posted and had his turbo turned into a TE-62 DT and blows the tires off from a dead stop up to 50 mph. The 301 is just as misunderstand as the Buick V6 was and still is. I think he'd find a lot of useful info over there if he decides to join up and do some reading.

Phil, sounds like you need to ask Big Louie about passing the Pontiac down to you. Better yet, dont tell him about the board and ask him to pass it down. :) :D

Let him join and do the performance mods first, then get the car. :icon_lol:
