Had a challenging year. The company was supposed to be sold but the deal fell thru. The owner, Kimmel, is burnt out and orders were all screwed up. 2nd show got delivered without paperwork, so I had to figure show configuration which is somewhat time consuming. Last show in Wrightsville was a huge success. Had people from the crowd come up to us afterward and said it was the best show they saw, and I felt is WAS the best show we did. One guy in the crowd was heard saying "you know they're good fireworks when you piss yourself!!!? ??? " It is a special spot along the Susquehanna river that makes for a great display area. I'll get some pictures up a little later. Thanks for asking, fireworks are a passion of mine, for zero money and next to zero thanks.

Wow.. Awesome!
Sorry to hear about the owner - burn out is a PITA, especially when you are an employee of the stressed person.
I was thinking about ya Thursday night. The Wife and I went to see Ralphie May in concert in St. Pete - and caught a great fireworks show afterwards. I was wondering how hard you were working while we were relaxing enjoying the show.

For us, it's alot of work especially with 95 temps. We have to setup from scratch, usually about 6 hours. Than shoot the show. Let the racks cool down. Tear down. Til I get home it's 2:00 am. So I get up the next day @ 6-7, organize the truck and get ready to meet the shell drop at noon. After all the shows are done, we have to take the racks back to the warehouse, fill the reports, and get rid of all the boxes and cake debris. What's pathetic is: I love it. Been doing it for 33 years. Every year I say it is my last. We've had our share of blown ear drums, second degree burns and personal air time.

Cool!

Not fireworks related. Getting ready for Chryslers at Carlisle, Thomas Ramcharger and an idea I had for an unusual shot.

Nice truck - great pic.

The funny thing is I know where you were launching Gary. That was the bridge we had to cross to get to the church camp I went to. Lot of good it did, right? :icon_fU:
