I said I was fed up and I guess I meant it?
Earlier today my brother and I were joking about buying mid-70s GM wagons, and while we were doing our quicky web searches I came across something...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEMANS-WAGON-JUDGE-STREET-ROD-Roller-G-Body-Like-Chevy-Malibu-Buick-Olds-/121133511035?_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&forcev4exp=true (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEMANS-WAGON-JUDGE-STREET-ROD-Roller-G-Body-Like-Chevy-Malibu-Buick-Olds-/121133511035?_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&forcev4exp=true)
Since Tatiana showed up I wanted to have a real family hot rod with AC and lots of storage space (for the little rod I am going to build her). More over I want something I can get on the road sooner rather than later. I figure a boosted 6.2L LSX backed by a 6L80 or 90 should be sufficient...
The only stipulation from Natasha was something had to go.
Well the Monte is a rust bucket (relatively speaking) and I don't have the time to fix it. So I am either going to slap it back together and sell it, or part it out. The Buick is just not worth it anymore, and Natasha and I want to start a project Porsche so it is time to get out of it too. Worst case scenario neither leave the house in one piece and I rape them for the best stuff to go under the wagon and cash out the rest of the parts.
The Camaro is also up for sale right now as we are planning on moving into a 2006 GTO.

Nothin wrong with a long roof.
-
Why not? you can always do it again. In the meantime, nothing like variety!
-
We raced against a 64 or 65 Malibu wagon TWO door. I'm with you, wagons, especially the two doors are awesome. Good luck with your projects.

This.
You can always buy another TR - variety is the spice of life!

Thanks guys. I suppose that all sounded a little too drama queenish, eh? I doubt I am going to go running away from the Turbo Buick world because of these choices as I am a G-body guy through and through.
I just want fewer headaches so that I can spend more time with my little girl.
-
chop two inches off the top of that wagon, bag it, put a stock Buick drivetrain in it, some sound, and you would have one heckuva family hauler!

I was going to call you a fag, but I won't. ;)
You can ALWAYS get new cars, you can't get back list time with your baby.
Please stay around, you may be a drama queen, but you are a helluva mechanic. :D

I'd have had it coming.
And thanks, I do like it here more than most sites.

You could always do a "pro touring" build out of the wagon. Even though it's longer than most cars it has a better weight bias and can be made to handle better. :player:
-
Or you could put a basic V8 in it, and just drive it. I will have one of those in a few years, probably a late 60's/early 70's Riviera.
-
I reno'd two houses and built a cottage in my "spare time" while the kids were growing up.
If I had it do again I'd do less of that and more family family activities. Good Choice

Give her a set of "tools" when she is two and take her to the shop with you. She will have fun and it will last for life. Take her shooting with you when she is three occasionally and start teaching her when she is six. She will then have what she will need to survive the future.
-
See this one at the Buick events- love it:

Yes,
Most satisfying than seeing your kids be the "go to" ones among their peeps when something needs solving or fixing. Daughter went away to college with her cordless drill... :yeah:
-
Don't worry - tools, guns and deadly martial arts are all part of my planned Daddy-Daughter time.
-
Our Father/Son/Mom time has been race track and car shows. And of course fireworks.
-
The only things I miss about my buick are the instant torque and the cool whistle.
LS power is pretty nice - they don't leak and parts are available nearly everywhere.
Now if I could stop munching t56's - but I have a plan for that 4l80 :)
-
I'm sorry Mike...but for road course racers with TR's the prerequisite for selling is running the road course at SMP at Mix N Match.
-
Nice buy. That thing is sure to turn heads. You can never have too many wagons...
-
Oh look... I found a video!
wagon (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xbq54l)

8 track?

8 track?
I know, right? It is definitely going to need a stereo system upgrade (MP3 ready deck, highs, mids and lows etc). I think I can fit a good sized subwoofer in the spare tire well. :tongue

Unfortunately we'll just have to leave that box unchecked.

Thanks buds, I can't wait to get it and show it to you.
-
I had two Gran Prix's that had that dash - I always preferred that over the TR dash/gauges.

Yeah you can actually retrofit real gauges in there. Now I just have to find an uncracked one... shouldn't be too hard. LOL!
-
I didn't notice - it is a center console, right?

A half one out of a Firebird.
-
Right now my drivetrain options are looking like either an LS3/TR6060 swap from eBay, L92/6L80E swap from eBay, or parting out our Camaro for the LS1 and getting my mitts on a stout 6 speed manual to back it.
After that... boost.
-
that's a pretty cool project you picked up.
-
Just saw this wagon at Chryslers at Carlisle. Could help but think of your new find
-
That is a cool ride! I could see that hot rodded - chop the top, lower it, big wheels, etc.
