I installed a roller cam this winter with Morel lifters, sounds like I don't have enough preload on one.
Stethoscope tells me its number 6.......... of course couldn't be 1 or 2. I tried to measure it with an adjustable no luck. The pushrods are 8.050 long and don't appear to be bent I'm assuming its the install height on the valve. Guess I''l pick up a 8.075 and see if that quietens things see what happens when you fix all your exhaust leaks!
I did find one at a buddys that is out of a ford that's 8.090 should I try it or will that create other problems? Everything else is a couple days away I live in the sticks :hmm

Most roller cam setups start point is around 8.20" push rods. Mine was 8.275". But this doesn't mean squat unless you measure. 8.050 does sound short. I would double check the spring height. Make sure it's near spec.

Comp lifters use a slightly longer push rod, the Morels "typically use 8.050" with the stock rockers. At least that is what I have been lead to believe the guys at Weber set me up with all the pieces. Full Throttle Kits specify 8.050 for Morels and 8.225 for the Comp kits. I'll try to measure the install height @#$%^ heater box :013: Its not horrible just enough to be annoying car pulls great. I have heard guys will go with as little preload as they can to help it rev a little higher.

A little research tells me as you said Morels use a shorter pushrod. You have a good happy range of preload. What are you setting it at? Go up to .045 and see if it helps. Just make sure the geometry is still good.

I had my morels at .045" and they still made some noise. I have .060" preload on them now and they are pretty quiet. My car pulls hard and has plenty of vacuum at idle.
