I see Nos4GN is having a sale.
(Denso O2 and the irresistible center consoles too)
Anyone using KYB? Happy?
-
used them three times. Replaced them with Bilstein each time. This was on three different cars
-
Deficient in road use or on the track? or both?
-
road use...seemed like they locked up for a moment at the top of the rebound stroke instead of making a smooth transition...m ade for a rough ride on a wavy road surface whereas the Bilsteins are very compliant while maintaining excellent control
-
Had both on my car. Bilsteins give a firmer ride.
-
maybe firmer, but feel more control...not harsh at all, imo. KYB's felt like they were suddenly putting the brakes on body movement at the top of the movement...or so it felt to me. :)
-
I've actually pulled Bilsteins off vehicles that have been scrapped out and they're still good. They hold up very well for a shock and while a firmer ride, control the car better.
-
Bilstein FTW!

Too bad there is such a price difference.

you get what you pay for

Got a huge discount on my Bilsteins from my ATR distributor.

i had a set of cheapos on the car with lots of wheel hop once i put the KYBs on NO more wheel hop but the car feels very harsh and it kinda feels like if the whole car bounces off of the pavement. kinda hard to explain.
hit a bump on the road and the car feels like it bounced over to the side 3 feet??????.

same feeling I was trying to describe....:)
