Post by: Charlief1 on December 27 2011, 07:03:16 PM
Is there a turbo that uses the stock IC turbo housings but has a 60-1 compressor wheel in it? What's the name if it if there is, Thanks.:)

It really doesn't give that good a discription of which compressor and which turbine Steve, that's why I was asking.

I just trying to figure put what to cal this thing Dave. It really is a hybred type after all but it's not easy to figure out what it should be called for marketing and identification purposes.:)

I would have said TA60 from this  http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/pictureguides/turboguide/turbos.html (http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/pictureguides/turboguide/turbos.html)

I spent a lot of time looking at the chart Steve and it's te or ta but the confusion is between which 60 or 61 series it is. I was hoping to get an answer on which turbine is used so I might be able to call it a DT 60-? for the turbine but I still haven't heard from the turbo guy as to which turbine it'll end up with.:(

Well the turbo guy got back to me today and gave me the info I was trying to figure out. The equalivilent IC turbo is a TA-62 uses 60-1 compressor wheel, P trim turbine wheel, stock 86/7 housings. Looks like a huge advance for the C/T cars now.:)

GN/Ttype didn't list the compressor or turbine on most of those Chris. Thanks for the input though. :cool;

Are you looking for a turbo not on that list?

It's a hybred turbo Chris. I was trying to get an idea of how well it will work on the draw through system so I needed a better idea of what a rough equalivilent would be. The current design is a very old Cheeta (sp) stage II which doubles the original flow of the stock one. With this new 60-1 compressor and P trim turbine it will flow three times the original. :rock:
