I have never felt so slow.

I like the fender flares. Way better than the slab side of the lesser models.
Who laid down these 9.65 runs? That is pretty salty for a production car.
-
Damn.
-
I just went thru a bit of it but a very cool car! Do they mention a price range & production numbers?
-
No price......... 3000 slated for the US and a whooping 300 fur Canader eh
-
I heard $110,00 US,
-
I heard $110,00 US,
Cripes, that will be $200K in Colourful money eh?
-
At least
-
I bet they are priced at the 125-130k range and it will be a dealers market. Besides, somebody has to pay for the production of that introduction.
-
There is a $40k convenience fee just to buy one.
-
I guess the bolt on ctv's have something new to pick on? :O
At least it's not a complete joke like the hellokitty version is....
-
Another overpriced/overhyped POS in my rearview. The idiots with too much money are buying these cars and making them look bad. I stated when the Hellcat was introduced that 9 out of the 10 owners wouldn't be able to drive...and that's exactly what happened.
-
I believe Steve Yaklin has been running 10.8 with his Hellcat. The interesting thing with the Demon is all the touches that the factory has added to make the thing reliable for the buyer and still have a warranty even when raced. I don't know how the average guy could afford the insurance on one-even if he could afford the car...of course, average guys cannot afford the car in the first place so I guess the entire situation is moot.
Personally, it does nothing for me even tho I admire the engineering. On the other hand, I could totally go for this http://www.motortrend.com/news/1000-hp-2017-trans-am-455-super-duty-bows-in-new-york/ (http://www.motortrend.com/news/1000-hp-2017-trans-am-455-super-duty-bows-in-new-york/)

Steve thanks for the link, that thing is also very nice & if I had the Fun $$$ to Blow I would have one of those included in my selective 50 car collection that's in my home's under ground garage!

And what if they aren't? Then what? Do think that maybe, just maybe, you could just enjoy them for what they are as an enthusiast?
The technology in the package is inspiring.
-
Free up the exhaust some c16 more boost and real slicks and 8 sec are possible so even a bad driver should have no problem running 10's.
-
Stuff happens fast in a ten sec car. And those guard rails sure get close in a hurry on a marginal track

You nailed it. A nine second car with a warranty...it is decidedly high tech from end to end. This is not your usual factory race car. This is a package put together with a lot of thought and a deliberate marketing signal.
The eventual price may put off some of the non qualified buyers but I suspect a few wll ge wrecked just like the Hellcats. So what? That is not the manufacturers fault. Idiots will always be idiots.

I remember Little River from the sixties and things happened fast in 15 second cars. LOL
Come to think of it, I don't think Prairie Hill even had guard rails, but then, it did not have any trees around it either. I saw Garlits run in the 8's there, tho

It you're an enthusiast...a nd own one...fine. Don't show up at Armdrop events flapping your gums...and turning down races. There's a whole load of these Hellcats near my home track. They don't dare show up...cuz they know I'll put them on the trailer.

I agree Rich. I've seen several high priced sport cars 180 them into the guard rail. I always wonder what they say to their insurance company.

[/size]Trailer, Who's trailer ,We don't need no trailer It's a street car that's the point.
-
I agree Mike. When I got my Buick all I wanted or cared about was drag racing & wrenching all day every day but there's a lot more than just racing when it comes to enjoying a car. The technology I'm sure is very impressive & that thing with only 50 produced will be worth having in a collection & enjoying out at the car shows with a track day now & then. Don't think I would start modding it & beating on it every weekend like my Buick. Also it's Great to see the car makers going back to their Roots for what brought US all together which is Factory Hot Rods!! Next models will come down in price a bit but the 60's & 70's are gone along with cars for $3k-$4K Either way it's a small step forward for Car Guys!
-
It sure is nice to see the HP wars again. Haven't seen anything like this since the early 70's.
-
I'm waiting for the street legal copo's or cobra jet's......GM&Ford haven't responded yet. Maybe Tesla will turn up the voltage....
-
Just like the aura of the GNX rubbed off on the GN's and T's this will lift sales of the younger brothers.
-
Ron sez:

-
What ever happened to the Copo program? Why on earth did they sell all those chassis to the Fast 'n Obnoxious idiot?
-
Marketing..the y have given some stuff to Roadkill as well. Fast and Obnoxious is too obnoxious for me...
GM is building stuff but they are not marketing it like Chrysler. I will be surprised if they don't turn the publicity up. Mopar is getting too many headlines.
-
You know what would be really cool Brad to get a Demon and take it to work at GM Oshawa. I bet the brass would be impressed.
It sure would get attention.
-
Went out on opening night with friends to watch the new F&F movie. I enjoyed it from beginning to end for what it was - an action movie with cars and explosions.
We are at my Mom's place in Georgetown for the weekend, which is just outside of Brampton where the Hellcats and Demons are built, and the streets are littered with SRTs - not Camaros or Mustangs. It really is an enthusiast brand.
-
They are fast and they are loud. Would I buy one? Probably not, just doesn't flip my switch. Cool, but just too flashhy I guess.
-
I saw a Hellcat advertised for $74k brand new the other day in the paper. For you US guys that is like $48k. Any idea what they retail for in the States?
