Hello, the previous owner of my car apparently cut the side of the intercooler shourd in order for the front sway bar to fit.
I have a HR Bar at and have no intentions on re-installing the front bar.
My question is besides for cosmetic reasons, will I benefit anything from fabricating something to close in the sides or finding something to close in the sides.
Thanks

Doubt it

Notching the shroud is normal with that intercooler as I recall. So do what you feel is best for you.

Interesting . At what speed would we say the the air pushed by the MPH dominates the pull from that little fan?

I have a Precision & it comes cut for the front bar with some adjustable plates that screw on. I messed them up & made a couple new ones. Used it closed up for years & now open with a hollow front bar & no difference I can tell? I haven't used the stock fan since I got it either.

Logging your IATs on the outlet side before/after would be all you need to do.

It would be difficult to prove any advantages connected to the factory fan. KB once had an IC fan shroud that was intended to enable it to draw air thru the IC rather than the adjacent air.

I had one of them ken belle intercooler shrouds. Was a nice tight fit around the fan.
I was told it was actually a restriction for the air going through it once you get over about 40 mph, but not sure if thats true or not
