Hurricane hunter flying through Milton. I travelled the carribean extensively...and turbulence would scare the fuck out of me. No way you'd get me on that plane...[link]
If you think things are bad in NC with FEMA pissing all their funds away to housing illegals...just wait till Milton wipes Florida off the map. My family's in Georgia and they were without power for about 5 days and are cleaning up. God help Fla and NC.
For the locals. I have a Paradigm PD8 sub. I've owned it since new-100 bucks. I have a pair of Paradigm 7seMk3's that have been professionally refoamed and I've owned them since new-250 bucks. More than happy to demo them or I can deliver to the Durham area. PM if interested..
My home track closes this weekend and I'm not sure when Cayuga closes. At this point I'll be happy to get him out on a stretch of lonely road and slowly lean into and it gets to WOT without any KR.
Steve-How do I check if a knock sensor is working correctly? I have a PL file from a local here that's way lean...and I won't even tell you how low the static fuel pressure is/was. It should be showing KR, but isn't.
Sometimes there are more factors then general rules. Air density altitude can upset any formulas you may have. When I ran local weather correction is usually at sea level. Last few times at Ohi0 we had to correct timing for 4800 feet above sea level. That will allow more added timing and less octane.
Youcorrect about small turbos loving timing. I'd think nothing of running 36 degrees of low gear timing with Erics 112 race chip on a race day with a well prepped track. I'd normally run 34 degrees of low gear timing on a TT day and I'd always leave high gear at Erics default of 26.
This engine is stock...stock turbo. He listens...which scares me LOL! Fuel/electrical system is up to snuff. He wanted to do what I did so there's 80 lb injectors and matching chip. He can't remember how much fuel is in the chip so I asked him to remove it and look. He wants build the exact combo as mine but I thnk he's figuring out the time/money that has to go into it, Thanks for the help.
I think it runs out around 19 from a practical view. If you push the boost higher, the gauge may reflect back pressure of the boost, but the air temp is so hot that there is actually less oxygen per cubic measure than it was back around 19. I think Eric added more fuel on the race chips to go along with the increased timing. I would think you might get 28/26 on good race gas. Small turbos seem to tolerate timing better than big ones. I think it is a matter of charge temperatures again. big turbos stuff a lot more O2 molecules in a give charge volume and said charge is more ready to fire off so you have to reduce the timing with the big turbos...
Steve-In a completely stock engine configuration the stock turbo runs out of breath about 22 PSI? Secondly, whats the difference between Erics 5.7 race/street chip either than timing and lean cruise? Can I bump the timing on a 5.7 street chip to 28/26 default for 110-112 octane. I'm running out of time for a local. TIA,
