Wow one is $130 the other is $10 that's crazy.
I've had my Vacuum pointing up the last 20+ years so I put it on upside down like the diagram.

Thanks Steve I'll save this info & put them on the list with fresh oil etc. It's in the driveway now & letting the rain clean off the dust!

Steve so glad I checked this post as for years I've had weird issues with my ac on Hot days & I don't think I have any check valves in my lines. I always knew that's why my cruise control doesn't work but this explains the other issues my ac gets on hot days. Time to find a couple check valves again. Years back I picked up a half dozen but they are MIA & now that I moved last fall all my stuff is in boxes in the garage so no chance I have them anymore. I'll look for that one you posted up out here in the Great White North!
Thanks you're always a wealth of info to all of us!

I've had a helicoil in the top right hole for many years but the past couple years it doesn't tighten down as tight as it should. Those Time Serts that Steve posted look interesting. I'll see about getting a small package of them or I'll take off the big 82? Q housing & put on a like new 70 P I picked up 10+ years ago but was never motivated quite enough to do the porting etc. for the RJC puck.
Good Luck with yours & I hope it all works out for you!

General Buick Tech / Re: Exhaust Header Gaskets? Yea, or Nay?
« on: September 05 2021, 02:45:34 PM »
When I put mine together a few months back I used my big file to go over the headers & the heads to hit any high spots (they weren't too bad) put them on without any sealant & so far they sound good although I'm not beating on the car & only have maybe 400 miles on it. Before winter I'll pop them off & see how they look & maybe get some gaskets or some sealer if needed.

I was at an IHRA event many years ago watching in the pits & when the engine came to life my ears rang for 2 days but it was a great weekend. Don't think I'd do that again without some ear protection because it was really Loud!  :O

Steve it fired right up & I idled it about a minute in the underground parking. I need to paint my front fillers & install the grill & give it a wash so I can go for a drive. Raining all day today so I don't know if I'll get out there but soon.
Thanks for all the help from you & the others here because it keeps me motivated but my back, right shoulder & my left hand are pretty sore right now. Everything was 3 steps forward & 2 steps back so I did everything about 3 times!  :O

So everything is back together & I messed up the starter wiring because I have it modified & I'm now not 100% sure how it should go? I haven't changed anything from how its been the last 10 years.

Trunk mount battery (computer has a separate line of its own) Positive goes to 1st starter post along with Fusible Links. Then the short starter wire to 2nd solenoid post & that combo turns on 90% of the car & starter turns properly.

Here is the issue that I forget how I had it wired? Separate Positive wire from starter to an isolated block that runs fuel pumps & is also hooked to the Alternator. If I hook it up to the 2nd post I get no voltage unless starter engaged.
So should anything be hooked to #2 post besides the actual starter motor wire?
I must have had all Positive wires on #1 post but for some reason I'm nervous doing that?  :chin:
