Trump is the purest example of a megalomaniac. He believed he was an emperor instead of an elected official that had to follow the roles. His own party dumped him and whatever r he perceived is gone forever.
Steve, you make a bunch of good points. It's sometimes frustrating that politics has become a team sport and "the other side" is always seen as evil/wrong. I've found it frustrating, but really really important, to listen carefully to opposing views and try to honestly understand where they're coming from. At the end of the day, if half the country is truly crazy then we've already lost.
Trump is an egomaniac...but the bottom line everyone had to ask themselves before voting was this. Was I better off under Trump or Biden. Desantis would be my pick for the nominee to run for President for 2024.
Actually, people in the middle here, don't like Trump. He is rude, classless, and obviously considers women as second class citizens. The lunatic fringe likes him and the democrats helped him push some of them thru the primaries, but, their support was not strong enuf with voters to win in November. The polls coming up to election day did not show any significant ground swell for the republicans and this was sad given their opposition. Republicans need to clean their house up and install new leadership and recognize their future lies with electable candidates in November such as Kemp, DeSantis and the others that are willing to lead from the center instead of the lunatic right. First step is dumping McConnell and the rest of the old guard and installing those who are not comfortable sitting in their chairs and getting filthy rich from pay offs. The "Loyal Opposition" is not a title held in high regard by many. At least Texas did not vote for Beto but it better wise up and build on someone with widespread support or the dems will select someone with charisma to run next time. and this state will go blue.
