May be yanking the tranny out of the TTA errr hmm well somebody else will and I was wondering what mods I should perform on it before it goes back in.  I noticed we have a supporting vendor for transmissions ( I have decided to say transmissions because I don't want to excite Led Zeppac) but how much would I be looking at for one of their trannys???

Umm... off the top of my head, get a shift kit and a 10 vane front pump. The 13 vane pumps won't give you anymore pressure than a 10. Get the Alto red clutches and for a converter, use a Pat's. And you don't need billet parts unless you're 10's or quicker.

I also got the Art Carr finned pan with a 4L60 or 4L80 filter. Be careful of one thing when you yank the tranny, watch the shifter cable. Easy to break.

Is the transmission the same in the GN's and the TTA's???

Uh huh. TurboHydromati c 200 4-R The TTA is the only F-body to be lucky enough to get one.

Billet servo, and hardened input shaft. If you have the cake, a hardened
planetary set definately contributes to reliability. Raybestos clutches are good too.
Original Art Carr shift kit is a no brainer.

I took these pics during my tranny rebuild.
Note the difference between the 2 input shafts. This
was mostly from an almost stock GN.

Ooh, forgot about the servo. I got one of those. And a shaft too, but not billet. I'll see if I can find my build sheet, it was pretty explicit about what they did.

Definatly call Len at Performance Trans if your going to have someone build it for you. He builds them himself and stands by his work. I dont have experience with others but Len is so likeable and my bud. I put over 6K miles including a trip home from Vegas and no issues.

There is another shop in Atlanta that does 2004r that a few TR guys have gone to, I'll dig up their number when I get home...much cheaper

In Chicago  (Mundelien) there is "Jimmy's Trans".  He is one of the best in Chicagoland.  Did a great job on Bryan's Trans.

Thanks for all the tips everyone.  I am bringing it to a "local specialist" that did one for my bud with an 86 T-Type.  I am no mechanic so paying someone labor twice (if something were to break) would suck.  At least if something breaks I can have it towed to his business.  We will see...maybe the tranny was the problem with my car only trapping 99mph,  I've seen TTA's trappin alot higher with similar et's. :question;
