General Buick Tech / IAC Wires Question

Got called out of town last nite for a GN that wouldn't idle. What I found was the owner installed a new turbo with a 4" inlet...and he managed to crush the IAC wires with the 4" MAF pipe. I got the wires straightened out and it now idles fine. The IAC is now pegged at 100 and the AF is 11. Do the IAC wires have different voltage values...or do I just check for continuity? With the IAC pegged at 100...is it pushing the AF to 11?

I can get a 283 or 327 engine...both complete from the grandfather of one of the gentleman I race with. He has a lifetime of SBC and BBC parts...and he`s willing to give me either engine. The 283 has the original Powerpack heads and the 327 has the double hump heads. The car isn`t being raced...just driven normally on weekend or evening cruises of 2 to 4 hours in duration. The car currently has a 350 transmission with 3.08 gears. I have a stock stall convertor and one that stalls between 2200-2600. Which is your favorite engine...and what would you recommend for compression ratio as I need it to run on 94.

Got a GN here where the fuel pressure drops to zero almost instantly when you turn the key off. Pump is new from Racetronix. Injectors are 55's...unsure of age. Fire away guys.

How fast can one go on a single pump? Alky is an SMC Progressive kit. Pump and hangar in the car are the latest from Racetronix. Hotwire kits for the pump and injectors...bo th again...from Racetronix. Injectors are 60's with alky...and testing at 28 PSI with the CEA 6262 the IDC is 68 percent...with zero KR. Have I got enuf "room" to make a 32 PSI pass?

I'm getting really effen tired of this. People nickel and diming trying to make their own hot wire kits...duel fuel pump kits...hot wire injector kits...etc...w ho don't know a volt from an ohm. Latest fiasco. I contacted Steve Wood about a car that came into the shop. We did a vacuum brake conversion. Shortly after...the car's idle is over 1,000. Turns out it's a burnt fuse... and it's got several...for some reason...in some trumped up home made dual in tank pump kit. Install a good fuse...normal idle. Pull the fuse...the idle screams. It's getting to the the point that the only TR I wanna work on...is my own.

I had a set of steel car ramps years ago...but I got pissed off and tossed 'em cuz everytime I went to drive a car up on them...they slid forward. Canadian Tire has heavy duty plastic ones...but...a re they gonna do the same thing...and slide forward? Any thots on what to buy?

Alrighty. I swapped out to a aluminum intake on my 1980 Z28 last year. Shortly thereafter the red idiot oil light came on. Oil pressure is fine. Sending unit?

The 85 IROC I have suddenly pegged the analog temperature gauge. Water temperature is fine. Would it be the sender unit in the PS head has taken a dump?

General Buick Tech / Low 02 Reading

I'm getting a low 02 WOT reading from Dan Kellers car...and it isn't real. 02's are in the mid 600's. No KR. New fuel pump. New hotwire kit. New battery. New alternator. TT chip burned for the exact combination. Fuel pressure rising with boost. 43 line off FP. Tried 2 known good ECM's. Grounds cleaned to within an inch of their lives. New 02 sensor. All SM readings normal. Engine temperature at 170 degrees.
 
Fire away guys...cuz I'm out of ideas.
