and a bad brake hose can cause the same.... Your right, but like I mentioned earlier, I did both of mine a it didn't cure it. It is a frustrating issue to have. If I drive mine bout an hour or so in moderate stop and go traffic, it starts pulling like a bitch. I hope he fixes his and than hopefully the same thing fixes mine. I really think asbestos shoes would cure it.

The sad fact is that the Chinese are leaders in firework production. We've used some USA brands and found then iffy at best. Sounds like either some of your lift charges weren't hooked up or they were loaded with too many shells in the tube. I did a show in Lancaster PA on the 8" crew. Our second shell had no lift charge. Thank God we buried the mortars 3/4 in the ground. We had no idea where the shell went, but it puked the mortar out of the ground and lifted the ground like a grenade in a 20 foot circle. I don't trust anything out of the roadside stands over the 4th. Glad to hear everybody is O.K.

I seldom drive the 69 - 442 but when I do, the right front wheel will not turn. Once I drag it some, it become unfrozen and works OK. Fix? I have the same problem with mine. If I drive it three times a year I'm lucky. I did both cylinders, brake hoses, and spring kits and it still does it. I was thinking the amount of metal in the replacement shoes since asbestos was banned makes them rust fast to the drum. I tried to get new drums, just for shits and giggles, but they all are like the Chev., not the flaring on the outboard side. I was also considering disc brake conversion but there goes the "all original" part of my car.

First and foremost: Fireworks. It's a shame it is so seasonal, but for the amount of work that is involved, it's a blessing. It is common for us to be on the road for 5 days straight. Every year I get more involved with what is going on in the sky and not the ground. My team allows me that privilege because they are so capable. Like Mark, 4 wheeling is something I missed and am getting back into because of my son and some of the MAGNA guys. I had a little mishap with my '88 Warrior recently, somebody help me find a rear axle!!!! My last bad habit is Golf, and that is because I'm bad at it, but it isn't about the game but who you Golf with. Damn, I would love to learn how to play guitar though.

I only wish that someday I have to *make up* stoires like this. But, if tales of my own personal anguish and excremental escapades are what it takes to get y'all to post on my favorite board then so be it. Got me hooked, you should have your own reality show. No, don't do that cause I can't stand reality shows. You could have been a writer for Seinfeld though.

welcome gary! Thanks Rob, still trying to figure out the setup stuff. I keep getting a message "IM turned off" when logging on and changing screens. With two broken ribs and a concussion, I got time to figure it out.
Check to see if these are set to 'Yes' in our Profile settings. If they are, change them to 'No'.
Pop up window on profile views: Pop up window for personal notes:
I have them set to "No", and I don't get the IM popup.
Set them all to "no" and still does it. I am trying just minimizing and see if it than only does it once when I log in. Not a big deal, still glad I found your site. Thanks Mark

What Zap said. Way back when we had points and distributors, an engine overhaul was useless if they weren't setup properly. It really isn't much different now except the computer does all that stuff. That's why a chip is so important. A crank sensor is nothing more than a glorified set of points, (a cam sensor is just an anal retentive crank sensor) a coil pack is basically a distributor cap. After that, the engine needs to make a certain amount of vacuum, compression has to be right, cylinder leakage in range, and keep all it's bodily fluids and gasses intact. Turbo's just make it more fun. Just my take on the subject.
