$600 doesn't sound as brutal as $800. Not to mention that one would normally have to do some sort of other upgrade just to get it to work(etc i have the stock downpipe, and stock WG setup) and a TC to match. What size stall do you run with that 60?

the 44/49/5531 will all work with the stock converter but work the best with a 2600-2800 stall.  With the stock converter it helps to change the programming and add a little bit of timing to first and second and take out a little fuel.  They work fine with a stock downpipe.

The TE60 works best with about a 3000 stall but will work with a 2800 stall with a little tuning as above.

The factory wastegate will work fine with all but you may need to enlarge the hole a little on the 60 for low boost operation to avoid boost creep

The 44/49 and now the 5531 which is a modern high tech version of the first two are about perfect for the normal street car.

Well if the 60 is going for $600 I'll go down to $500.  Just let me know if you want it.

Thanks for that info Steve.  There are really no advantages to upgrading from a stocker until it's shot right? I mean for a moderate street car.  Im sure 17lbs of boost on a stocker might even feel a bit stronger than a 44/49 equivalent?

that is pretty much my experience.  The stock converter will spool a bit quicker with a stock converter but the 44 size can be tuned with a modern chip to come very close.  I am guessing that about 17 psi is where the 44 will begin to outperform the stock unit but below that, there is not much difference because neither one is working hard

Sometimes the stock turbo will have too much spool off the line unless you have good, bigger tires that don't spin so easily

The 44 size is the perfect street turbo as far as I am concerned and has the air flow to take a car with stock ic and dp into the 11's without losing any drivability if one is running alky

Amazing how few cars can run 11's when they have to prove it

I would not replace a stock one with another stock one

Somewhere I have a restalled stock converter.  Its restalled to 2800rpm.  If I can remember where the hell I've stored it I'll give you a damn cheap price so that you'll have all that you need.  These are parts that I wouldn't hesitate to put on my own car.  I'm selling them because I've upgraded to higher performance stuff and I need to need to have a little cash-stash to fill in the needs on the 'Buick Communtiy Rebuild' of my car.

First I have to put my hands on the converter.  I have stuff stored in different locations right now.  When I moved a few years back I left some stuff in a storage shed at the old house.  Let me get over there and poke around.  How does $625 shipped for the turbo and converter sound?  and you can send payment via paypal, check, MO, or any other way thats convenient to you.

Hey are you negotiating for Charles?  I just realized that Charles started this thread.

Here are a few.  I'll email them as well.  There is ZERO shaft play with this turbo.  No up/down or in/out.  It spins smoothly.  Its practically brand new.
