Help with no start.
I’ve followed the steps outlined in the Vortex Buicks pages, and here’s where I’m at…
87 GN, 15 K miles, TT 60 lb injectors and 5.7 chip with 255 Walbro in tank recently.
Car sat for 2 years without starting.
I have spark, 32 lbs pressure on the rail, injector pulse, but no start.
Is it possible the injectors are clogged?
Where do I go next?
-
It's very possible. Spray some starting fluid (or flammable carb cleaner/brake kleen) into the intake and see if it tries to run.
If it does, take an extension and rattle it with a hammer against the base of each injector-not hard enuf to break the injector. Sometimes this will get them unstuck altho the gas today can form so much jelly that this may not work.

Thanks Steve!
Sprayed some brake kleen in the plenum, and it started and ran for a few seconds then shut off.

Sounds like they are stuck or glued up and not letting any fuel thru

I tapped on the bases like you described.
Any suggestions now?

Have them cleaned is my only thought. That's assuming you have injector pulse as seen on a noid light or even on a test light if you can see that fast. 🙂

Checked injector pulse with a noid light, all good.
Tapped the crap out of them and I finally got it to run for a a little then stalled out.
Started up and stayed running.. put 10 gal of fresh 93 and drove it a good 20 miles and it didn’t skip a beat. She’s a handful..
Thanks for your help Steve.

pour some good injector cleaner like Techron in the tank...and may help clean them... or, just fresh gas may do the job as it has lots of cleaner in it as well
Glad it finally got to working!
