Title: Weird Projects
Post by: Recklessrob on July 28 2006, 09:32:06 PM
I know that at some point, I mentioned this project to a couple
of you guys. I had never seen one, so I decided to make one.
A tandem BMX bike !
With my boss (riding bitch) and I, it supported 446#'s ! :rofl;
The pic is low res (taken with a camera phone).
7 1/2 feet end to end.

What kinda stuff have you guys and gals made ?

WTF? The bubble mint twins?

We're trying to make chopper/trike things out of old Honda 3 wheelers, no real progress, just a couple of drunken dreams.

The real question here is: 'Why is Rob flying the African colors?'

Hey, I have plans to make an acetylene powered potato gun out of exhaust pipe, but I'm afraid to make (another) one!

I have thousands of .22 caliber bullets in my closet and I read up how to make a pipe gun... I really want to make a pen gun though!

I did that with PVC pipe, but I used oxygen and acetylene. It sent the taters completely out of sight ! A freind of mine made one
that he was using hairspray for a propellant in. I suggested that he try the oxy/acetylene mix. Bad idea ! It exploded on him. He didn't make his as good as mine. He was picking plastic shards form his pant leg.

Phil, I don't recommend making a "zip" gun, especially
where you live. That is unless you want to switch from playing "tight end" to "wide reciever". :rofl;

Cool idea on the bike.  Just decided to get a little crazy with the MIG, huh?  Was that aluminum?

I can't really think of anything cool I've made, but there is nothing like the feeling of a good rig job.  I like pulling some McGyver shit and gettin' things working again.

I've always wanted to burn some modern art with the welder, but I want to get a plasma cutter and a TIG first.

It's only steel that I mig welded together. I don't know how to tig yet.
I tried a plasma cutter out while working on the race car. At first all I
did was mess up the nozzle/tip. But after I got the hang of it, I got fairly good with it.

Brian, the rear section was a Huffy, and the front was a Mongoose.
