Title: Thread sealer recommendation
Post by: DCEPTCN on July 18 2006, 12:43:07 PM: I put a new water pump on the other day. Then, I fired it up for about 5 minutes and noticed a little white smoke from the cut out. The instructions didn't say anything about thread sealer, so -duh- I didn't put any on. I realized now that 4 of those bolts enter the water jacket. Jesus, man. Anyway- anybody have a favorite thread sealer to recommend...an d how much do you put on these bolts?

I always just used Loctite from the local parts store..

It's used for threaded pipe. Check your oil too. Some coolant could have leaked on the inside of the timing cove as well.
