Title: What is everyone's Best racing time?
Post by: TSM Girl on June 20 2006, 11:42:38 AM
I am just curious, what is the best time everyone raced???

Last time I ran last October the day my fuel leak happened and I was racing with a cast on my foot....I ran 13.02 @104 MPH (shitty 60 ft of 2.3) all stock well, diffrent injectors, soon as our garage is done being built, I will have all my new parts on....(Bigger turbo, Intercooler, etc they are sitting is storage waiting to be put on)

I haven't timed my car in years.

13.4 @ 99.59 w/ 1.9 60'

For some strange reason, my car has never been able to break 100mph
even with that ET. Hence new combo on the way !

I ran twice at Reynolds last year, low boost, only 93 octane gas.  Ran 104 mph.  I will try again when I get alky!

I think most of us could push our cars down the 1/4 in those times.  :rofl;

I just went to the track tonight, and ran 13.313 @ 99.69mph.
Pronto let me borrow a seet of M/T street slicks, and I ran a 1.860 60'
with them.  :supz: Littlesixsteve aka: MrLimitedT, and whatever else he goes by
was there. 1turbo6 and Russ Merritt were also there. I also met a guy
from RI that goes by the name GNKid on the boards.
Stupid car still won't break 100mph though.
Still a good time just the same.

I forgot to mention that Grumpy went to the track to spectate.
As for the pics and video, I'll let you know what happens when I find out. :atbeer:

I'll probably go to Reynolds.  It is only 2 hrs away from my house.  Hopefully my car will be ready by then.

12.98 @ 104 MPH at NED, same place as Rob. It actually hooked up a little. 1.8 short time , if I remember right. Track prep stinks there. Hopefully the weather straightens out tonight and we can run 'em again. I haven't been yet this year and have only had the car out of the garage twice. The last couple times at the track I've been running low 13's at 102-104 MPH. No traction.

I didn't end up going because it kept looking like rain. Pronto went to
test out his new combo. I haven't heard the results yet. He was also
going to cancel, but changed his mind last minute. My car is running very close
to Gregs now, but it still wont go 100mph !
13.314 @ 99.69mph.
I'm hoping that the new combo will obliterate those numbers....

Hey Rob, we missed ya. Very few people showed up and I was able to get in eight runs even though I got there late. Mike forgot his instructions for his new Turbotweak chip so he didn't play too much. I'm not sure what his best time was. Jon from Fall River, MA was there with his blue T. He ended up running an 11.8X at 117 MPH. Pretty quick car. Mine was pretty slow....mid 13's at 100-101 MPH. I'm still running last years gas so I didn't want to push it too hard. I wasn't locking the converter so I probably could have picked up another MPH or two. I had one good launch, all the others spun and wheel hopped. 2.1-2.3 60' times. Maybe next time we'll all get up there together,

I think Mike ran 12.4 with a leaky IC hose !
Do you still have the thrasher 100 chip ? Is it for 30# inj,
or stock ? Also, I still have a shirt for you that I brought back from Vegas
last October. It's been on the back seat of the GN since.

I have a Thrasher 100, a 108 and (2) 92's but they're all for stock injectors. We gotta get together at the track. Are there any local car shows in Derry this year? Thanks for the shirt!!

Nothing in town anymore. I have 30's in the car now, but I have a set of 60's and
a Turbo Tweak chip for the new engine. I was thinking about trying a 100 to see
if I could get my damn car to break 100mph on the old engine.

Are you locking the converter? That's good for 1 or 2 MPH. If you're not making tons of power it shouldn't hurt it much. How's your tune?

I'm not locking the converter, but I
think the chip does around 50mph. The tune is fairly close, but I think I may try lowering the boost a little. I have a gut feeling that the higher boost is raising
intake temps to much, and lowering air density.

Who's chip are you running? Unless you're sure it locks, you could try grounding the aldl pin at 80 MPH or so. It feels like another gear.

Thrasher 92
I'll look into locking the converter.

I'm pretty sure the Thrasher's don't lock at WOT. You'll need to ground that pin on the ALDL plug. I used to ground it at the starting line but that will lock it as soon as you hit 2nd gear. It's probably better to do it with a switch at around 80 MPH. Locking it in 2nd puts a lot more load on the engine and may cause some more knock at lower boost levels than if you do it farther down the track. I bet you can break 100 easy if you lock it.
