No more signage than that?

It's all legal until you get caught doing it. Then if you have a good enough lawyer you can still get away with a lot.

Any "wide loads" need Pilot Cars for escorts so I'd say No it's not legal. MTO guys would have pulled him over & probably most OPP. Even if it's not technically a Wide Load it's likely Oversize for the vehicle.

see all the time out here.

Yes 100% legal in ON Actually doesn't even need the D board on loads up to 12 ft wide. Escorts only needed over 12 ft wide. Just flag the corners and a blanket permit and good to go. Light the corners after dark.
Length also could come into play but trusses usually are not over length.
For our American friends a D board or banner is bilingual and needed if you go to Quebec.
It's been about 10 yrs for me so it might have changed now.

That thing is taking up 1.5 lanes so it's really taking up 2 driving lanes & that's Legal without anything more than a D with Red & White stripes?
-
Amazing that is covered under a Blanket law?

Well Dave his lane position leaves a lot to be desired and in theory that is loaded to be in the curb lane. but only need 4 flags on the corners and doesn't even need the D board up to 12 ft. OH and no special training to haul. The D board comes into play on Long loads Another ON MTO silly law.

I can see a possible problem when there is a small car beside him & then maybe a 10 ton delivery truck next to the car & lack of attention, but the accidents will happen anyways. Altho I would have bet that had to be breaking or at least bending 1-2 laws of the Hiway Act.

Pic is a little deceiving but yes he needs to hug the right line tighter....... ...he good with permit
