Title: Tire Pressure and Air/Temp-Track Temp
Post by: Scoobum on September 02 2016, 11:47:50 PM
2 weeks ago I ran 11.4 PSI in the 28x9 MT slicks...and the car went down the track like it was on a string. Temp and humidity were through the roof. Temp/humidity were cooler/dryer tonite. With 11.4 PSI in the slicks for the first pass...the car was swaying like a whore. I bumped the tire pressure to 11.8 on the 2nd pass...and it went down the track like it was on a string once again. Fill me in on what's going on.

the more power you put down, the more the car walks around.  The more air you put in the tires, the straighter the car will try to go.

I have heard if you use a drag radial tire it will stop the swaying around.

When you mix bias ply tires (slicks) with radials on the front it tends to get a little squirmy on the big end if your that low on tire psi.
