Title: Tonites Track Data
Post by: Scoobum on September 02 2016, 11:18:29 PM
Boost-19
VP 112
Low Gear Timing-29.6
High Gear Timing-24.7
Low Gear Fueling-795
High Gear Fueling-760

ET-7.4
MPH-97
60 Foot-1.83

I never got a chance to test with the 80lb injectors and chip in cooler weather...as my GN was stolen last fall. Tonites testing in cooler/dry air tells me there should be enuf high gear fuel in this chip to turn the wick up for a 28-30 pound pass next month...if conditions are favourable.

Steve, the temp and humidity last nite were both in the mid 60's. On the above run I flashed the convertor to 3850 off the line...but the track wasn't there. If it had of held on that pass, then the plan was to bump the boost and high gear fueling and run a 6.9x on the next pass. I can run 33 degrees of low gear timing with 116 without breaking a sweat. Last nite was just a teaser of what this car can do.

Does this thing have a cage?

I don't need a cage to run 7.4...

Good mph!  And decent ET with that 60ft.  Car is hauling!  Are you only running 1/8 mile?

My home track has a short shutoff. I quit running the 1/4 when the car hit 123. I was on the binders hard trying to pull it down. The 1/8th teaches you low gear tuning...being quick on the tree...and launching. I was relying far too much on the turbo and the 3.42's to 'walk around' the guys when they ran outta gear.

I sure wish you could run a quarter mile somewhere. Would love to see what it can do that last quarter mile. Maybe thru the traps at 120-125?

I'd routinely run 11.5 at 120-121 on 20 PSI on a 1.7x launch with my old SMC progressive kit.

When tuning I pay zero attention to short times or ET. The only time I look at ET is bracket racing or making a banzai run. What I look at is MPH...as it's indicative of HP...and how well the convertor is coupling on the big end. When I was putting this combination together, Precision came out with the CEA high flow turbos. I immediately called Patrick Rubio at Precision. I went with the CEA 6262...and the AC 16930. Let's take a look at some real world data. These engines are all stock stroke. Torque convertor selection is all important...an d should be required reading.

Norbs-70mm turbo-Precision 2800 LU convertor-10.3x at 134
Grumpy-6776mm turbo-9/11 convertor-9.9x at 138
Bird-Rich is one of the GTA guys-70 GTQ-9.69 at 138-Art Carr convertor
Bison-6265-PTC race convertor-9.9x at 13x

Go back to 2014...and you'll see me picking up MPH as the season progressed...c ulminating in a 6.7 run. I'm fairly certain my MPH has been increasing in the past month. Coincidence... or am I slowly building up to something.

I don't need a cage to run 7.4...

No one is talking about needing a cage to run an easy 7.40... it is when you get past that. ;)  Keep me in mind if you guys hit Napierville in the Fall...

Will do. Myself, Joe and my buddy Steve with the turbo'd Hayabusa are gonna try and get there.
