Not sure mine is bad but the mileage has slipped a couple miles per gallon.I haven't busted out the meter to check the resistance. I have some popping and loss of power when "getting on it". If I roll into it does alright but if I just go straight wfo, it doesn't want to go. I have that new dw200 fuel pump so I'm not thinking it is fuel related but not sure. Will get the gauge on that when I hit the coil with the meter.
So I did a bit of searching and see the ac Delco and Delphi coils are $100 or so and the bwd and other aftermarket pieces are half to two thirds as much. Anyone have experience with the bwd? It has a lifetime warranty but if it doesn't work what good is that? Do I need to replace the module at the same time? Is it better to hit the wrecking yard with a list of other cars or is that just a snipe hunt as those have mostly been crushed or have aftermarket coils on them?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Cheapies from Glen at NOS4GN are fine...not sure what brand they are. Ask Jason if he has a spare coil pack you can try. I deem a coil pack good if I can pound it through the 1/8th without it breaking up.

Mine was starting to break up last yr before I got to the track. Replaced with a BWD and all is good. I did ohm the coil prior. I think you'll know if the module needs changing when you pull the coil pack

When we went to jr's, I took my spare cam sensor and all the spare coil packs and ignition modules that I had. The only spare I have now is on my car while Bob fixes the TR6
-
Have you heard from him? Last I saw he had it running. I wonder how he is doing.
I'll just buy a bwd. Just have to hit it with the meter to see if the resistance isn't where it should be.

I have not heard anything since he said that he got it running

Good rule of thumb is to replace the coil pack and module as a set, though many don't.

Well I put the meter on the coil. Got 12 k, 12k ,and 13 k ohms, so i'm thinking it is working. I plugged the scan master in and was making some full throttle type enter the highway doings. It seems to only have the af go to 199. I'm pretty sure it used to go to 255. This it appears might be my problem as it seems to "surge" and not accelerate with a hard pull. Might not be giving it fuel like it should. I do know when I get on it the o2 drops to like 191 and then climbs back up to the 750s or so and it cruises at 780-790s. I did get it going around 1800 rpm keeping up with traffic so I guess that is 65-70 mph but i'm not sure.
I guess I might have to break down and buy a translator. Is there a list of gm numbers that can be used for a maf. I have one for my suburban. It is a big block and looks like the ones people have on their Regals.
Thanks.

You can use an LT1, LS1, or ZO6...but you need a special connector for the ZO6. The base knob has to be changed in the Translator to get it to work with the ZO6. Your local wrecking yard will have them for next to nothing.

wonder it was not trying to blow a hg....

I've got the stock MAF here for you. Shoot me a text and we'll figure out something or I can send it to you in the mail

I turned the boost way down. I haven't been beating on it. I will say the trans still shifts good and i am real proud of that. Now I just have to dig down deep and get some of the "good stuff" so it can run well.
Looks like Jason is going to help me out . We will see how that works out. I really appreciate all his knowledge. And willingness to help.

Hey fellas!! Finally joined this site. Rich, I still have the extra coils Jason brought over and your fuel pressure regulator. If you still need give me a shout. My cars ripped apart now getting ready for a few upgrades.
-
What are you going to upgrade? I guess it was running well with the fancy computer? Did you get the sender thing so you can log the fuel pressure?
I'll give a shout one of these days
Oh and welcome to the site.

Glad to see you on the board!
