Well, this is kind of a long standing "member" of my family. It is my first car and I wont part with it. I bought it back in '85. It smoked like a freight train, and needed work, but as with any young car owner it was mine. It is a GS455. Not really any straight panels, but I pretty much bought it that way. I dreamed of a Stage One but this is what I could afford. I'm pretty happy with it. I drove it to High School and as a daily until I bought my first T-Type. So, then it has pretty much sat. When we moved out to the country. That is my then new to me trailer.
We moved around a bit. This is at our place in Houston in the mid two thousands. We left it out of the trailer and took pix and other things in the trailer inland when the Hurricane came.

Then the economy declined so we went to West Texas for new work in the oil field. I managed to get indoor storage for it for a while.

You don't know just how much stuff you have until you have to move it and store it somewhere when you are between places. But we keep moving forward then and now.

A good friend of ours let us keep some of our stuff out on their property. He had a stroke and his brother is pretty much a tool and called me last week to come get it. It was time but this guy was pretty adversarial about it telling me if I didn't come get it he was going to cut it up and sell it for scrap. I kinda took it personal but didn't let it get in the way. Just that he can pound sand as far as me helping him do anything at my friend's home while he is there.

Nothing more fun than dragging a car up onto a trailer with some ratchet straps. We are actually pretty good at it as we do it pretty often. I'm buying a winch one of these days.
We got it to the house and so the project begins to get it running and driving. So much fun.

Good project for all that spare time you have :)

Isn't there just a "like" button somewhere around here?
-
Yeah, just my hoarding. I buy things but rarely sell anything. I hate when people come over and want to dig in my stuff. I would rather meet them somewhere else just so no one knows just what i have. I know several others with veritable cornucopias of parts and such but they just don't want to goof with people so they just keep collecting. Those welded shut semi trailers and other barns full of stuff you read about on the Interwebz are more common than you think. You just have to know the people doing the hoarding and not tell anyone else. Maybe I'm saying too much. Just that to be over anxious and a pest just makes them batten down the hatch and you never get in.

That'll soak up that extra doe you'll have rolling in :) What options did the car come with factory? Still have the original motor and trans?
-
It is a bench with column shift. Not even the fancy bench. I think the color is called parchment. Numbers engine/trans but it has a newer 8.5 10 bolt. Probably the original got torn up when the pass quarter panel got caved in. It has power steering and power front disks. It has wiring in the trunk like someone pulled a trailer with it. It has factory a/c. I have what I think is the original compressor for the a/c. I bought the car in 85 when I was in high school for $1250.

I believe this I the original big pulley a/c compressor. Probably will need overhauled so it can work.

I have a 455 block that is already 0.030 over so I kind of planned to go 0.038 and do an off set grind on the crank so I can use bbc rods on a 2 in crank journal. Apparently this strokes it out to 470 or so. I thought it would make a nice street engine. I have a crank that came with the engine deal. Just need to score some forged BBC rods. I think they are 6.5 long. Eagle makes some. I've been watching c/l but none have fit my budget yet.
I might try to do a dual fed billet forward 2004r so it can do power tours and such. I have another Cadillac AA core from Houston.
Just time and money stand in my way.
-
Got a std 455 block with crank. and rods, which are in decent shape Rich. Also has a set of good heads that're bare and crack checked. Block will most likely need to be bored but the rest should do nicely. I can even teach you how to port the heads if you want. :D

So I come out yesterday to a rim on the ground. I'm thinking slow leak, no prob, just need to stay on top of it . Well, not so much.
So I put a different one on.

Also hung up a couple more Buick signs. A license plate and one of the round ones.

And one that I already had up. Yea, I'm kinda partial to the trishield.

You could probably sell those signs and pay for the engine build- If you beleive those tv shows :).
Too bad shipping is so expensive out of here, I have a complete AC I sawzalled out of my Lesabre :o -still charged I believe.
-
yeah, those signs might be worth more than the cars! Me, I would not let go of either!
