never knew they got this bad... i got to looking at my friends up pipe off his 86' GN and he asked to swap and i figured he wanted mine for some BOV experiment, but i looked at his when he was done swapping and well this is what i found. he gained 4 psi by switching to my stock up pipe.

Um, perhaps I haven't been around the block as many times as some other members here, but I have never seen a stock up-pipe that looked like that.
-
My stock up pipe looked nothing like that one.
-
Are you sure that's stock?
-
Thats actually a rare collecter up pipe :rofl; J/K. But there were GN's/ttypes that had up pipes like that. I forget the story behind it but yes, some cars had thoes up pipes.

Or maybe even the local lesbian shop....ribbed for her pleasure!
-
That's disgusting, the pipe rather...
-
the story is that in mid to late 86 the GM pipe bending machines were going "bad" and the pipes progressively got worse, and some ended up like the one i showed u. and some are hardly noticeable. thats whats in kirbans book anyways. mine had ripples but hardly noticeable.
-
That's what happens when pipe is bent without a mandrel.
-
I think thats what happens to your up pipe when it
is barely used and gets old. :rofl;
Actually, I have seen that before. It was likely a cost cutting
measure.

yall should check out the kirban books, tells ya alot of things about these cars that most people dont know.
