Please let us have a moment of silence for my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. My insurance company totaled it after I was hit in the driver's side rear wheel area. Luckily no one was injured. It did not look too bad to me, but the repair shop said the frame was bent. USAA did me right and paid me a fair price for the car.
In order for me to cope with the pain of my loss, I have purchased a 2015 Chevy SS. It is as if my G8 was reincarnated into a much more refined and better car. The 3rd gen mag ride is amazing as well as the stopping power of the 14" Brembo brakes. It is absolutely the best handling car I have ever driven.

Pix or it didn't happen!

LOL here are some pics

:rofl:I like the new one. If I could swing a $50k car my wife would be driving one.

Looks like the same car?
-
Same color. It is basically the same car except it is built on the Holden VF platform vs. the VE platform that the G8 was from. Interior is much upgraded as well as the suspension, handling, brakes, etc. It has the LS3 in it, good for 415 HP stock. It has a 3.27 gear in it vs. the 2.92 that the G8 had.

Moment of silence....... ....Nice recovery.

Too bad they aren't sold up here. Natasha was smitten by the 2015 Charger I brought home the other day... and said the Hellcat would be necessary. Okay maybe I am paraphrasing a bit...

The hellcat would be awesome. I am seriously considering putting a whipple supercharger on it. Most cars have been putting down 550 RWHP with the addition of one and no other mods.

AH, You said we needed one and she didn't say "over my dead body" so essentially "yes"

I think she is also tired of hearing me complain about the Taurus she made us buy, and how I want to replace it with a Roadmaster wagon - which she hates the idea of. So a Hellcat is win-win, right?

I put a trailer hitch on this weekend so I can use my bike carrier. After putting a few miles on, this is quite the capable car. But I also realize there is a horsepower war out there and I am losing. This car needs a couple more hundred horsepower, at least.

Here is another shot.
