Title: NHL Feel Good Story Of The Year
Post by: Scoobum on March 22 2015, 08:31:58 AM
Andrew Hammond...nick named 'The Hamburglar' was called up from the Senators AHL farm club. This kid has amassed a 12-0-1 record and has carried the team on his shoulders from 14 points back all the way up to a playoff position. The fans...are saluting him by throwing hamburgers on the ice at the end of the game. Watch him as he salutes the crowd with a hamburger...an d Curtis Lazar picks one up and eats it. Hilarious!

He has play great, unlike the Melting Leafs! :icon_lol:   Here I thought you were talking about the Jets, we are still holding on to the last playoff spot.

Yeah , I'm not really getting that hockey. I mean, two half times and neither is at half way through the game. I do like the fighting.

Here ya' go Rich. Tie Domi and Bob Probert were the two toughest guys in the league...and fought for the heavyweight title numerous times.

Living up here in Ottawa has seen a lot of energy infused into the city through the play of Hammond.  We're looking forward to seeing him play Tampa Bay on April Fools.

I've kinda taken a liking to that Jets team.........t hey may do some damage. Paul is a good coach and I think can really relate well with the players with his younger age. Only thing that concerns me about teams like Ottawa and the Jets is they may have used up too much energy and emotion just to get in the playoffs. Going 4 rounds is a war at that level

You are absolutely right!  Most teams that go on huge winning streaks tend to be the first out in the playoffs.  You see that with a lot of teams that have 12 game winning streaks and lose in the first round.  I think that is what happened to the Penguins that one year.  First year the Kings won they were in 8th place.

Winnipeg is a big team built for a run with Buflen back they are suited for the playoffs. Hard to play when you are always looking over you shoulder waiting for the next big hit.

But...........

Go Canucks Go

Take a look at a team like Boston. Plenty of great players...but the deep playoff runs for several years in a row takes it's toll.

Yeah I get that but the Canucks have been rolling 4 lines all year spreading the ice time out. They have a core group that knows what it takes. It's going to come down to goal tending and I have watched Hiller melt down when he was with the ducks.

Let's hope Ottawa goes all out tonight... Montreal is visibly shaken and ready to break.

It is important to note that in games 1-4 of this series were each decided by a single goal, two of which came in OT (and 2 Mtl winning goals came on bad turnovers by a young team).  The game 5 ass whooping of the Habs showed what was already known: Ottawa is that damn good and can take it up a level.

Regardless of what happens tonight the Sens will be a team to watch over the next few years.

What a melt down.

I thought Winnipeg was bad!  When you have the lead, play keep away.  The Ducks kept icing the puck on the Jets and I thought they would have the common sense to do the same when they got the lead.  I really thought Miller would shine. :(

Heckuva run by the Sens. If management can keep all these guys with the salary cap etc...they'll be hell on wheels for the foreseeable future. Let's hope Price stays healthy this year...cuz Stanley needs to come back to Canada...where he belongs.

I'll be cheering for the Flames as well...but I don't like their chances in round 2.
