Good morning gents. I meant to ask this question a while ago. My brakes were switched over to vacuum brakes years back. Sometimes I notice after I hit the gas really good and then immediately tap the brake, the brake pedal is hard for a second before going back soft and allowing to stop properly. What do i need to fix this problem? Thanks

replace the check valve at front of booster
i run a second checkvalve inline that i get from imports in the junk yards

check valve is that round piece that goes in between two hoses? Thanks for the response Paul. Can I pick one up anywhere?
-
Normally, the check valve is the plastic piece that plugs onto the grommet on the booster...Hose from plenum connects to it.
Paul is saying that he added a second check valve in the line to that one. There is also a filter in the line on some cars which is a bigger can than an inline check valve
And, yes, any parts store will have one...often on the HELP rack

thanks for the help guys.

I finally fixed my hood. I changed the oil last weekend. Also installed that SLIC that was laying around. Car seems to run great. Loves the cooler weather for sure. I still have the boost turned down pretty low.

while you are on a roll, you can come help me work on cars...they all need something

Now as lazy as i am Steve, that'd be a miracle. I would be interested in seeing that motor you got installed in your other car. That thing is gonna be a monster.
