Title: AMS-500
Post by: Pyro6 on August 23 2014, 10:03:44 PM
Anybody familiar with the hookup of an AMS-500 boost controller? Since we only race footbrake without a trans brake, without two step, input1 for staging and input2 ramping become a challenge.

Maybe a momentary switch you hold , then release when you launch.

That's the theory Rich. I am just looking for an accurate boost control. I'm trying to decide hookup to just use input1 for straight boost control. We haven't been to the track all year. I'm trying to get the car ready for a T n T at Maple Grove for tomorrow and race the following weekend. Cecil in a couple of weeks. Brake switch would be the most logical choice by the way (launch)? But, if I just wanted boost control, hookup  input2 to tps ouput and away we go. Wonder if 4.0 +- will make it work?

drill and put a momentary switch on the left side of the brake pedal ,  its how they get the bailey 2step to work without a tbrake ,   contact eric marshall he has them

Thanks Doc. This whole week went to shit. Won't be racing this weekend and I'm pissed. So, Cecil will be the next time out. Talked to Mike and for straight boost control, run the external gate at low pressure, ground input 2 and adjust accordingly. Me, the stupid F, started high on the wastegate. But Pauly, I'm thinking, why can't I just use input 1 for launch control using current from the brake switch/brakelamp side? One of the joys of having your own business, I can't even think about the GN til the week of Cecil. I wanna go Friday and Sat., paperwork is in.
