Yours truly beating on his junk from June 7th. Your eyes don't deceive you. Those are MT 10.5's...and they clear the frame rail and wheel lips.

Nice! Nothing like a smokey burnout.

Very nice!!! What did it run that day?

Bracket raced it that day on a 7.30 dial...equival ent of an 11.4. Boost pressure was 21 PSI. Low/high gear 02's were around 780 with Erics 110 race chip on the default timing settings.

what size rim and BS?

Larry, these are the stock GN rims...with the narrow sidewall MT 10.5's. Keep in mind that I run aluminum rear drums...so you'd likely need an 1/8th inch spacer to get the same results. I use the motorcycle track as the return road...so they do 'clean' the frame rails. If you check on MT's site...you'll note they sell 4 different 10.5's...with different sidewall measurements. These are the 28x10.5 x15S. I think the other one has a C after the 15. I normally grab up every pair of 28x9x15 slicks I can find on KIJIJI...as they have the same sidewall measurement as the 28" drag radial...and fit with zero issues on a rim with a 4" backspace. Grumpy ran a 4.5" backspace rim with a 1/4" spacer with a 28" drag radial. I just mounted a pair of 28x9 slicks yesterday with a set of Billet Specialty rims with a 4.5" backspace with an 1/8th" spacer...and they fit. I can post a pic if you like.

How big a difference is there in the thickness of the aluminum verses the steel drums?
-
I believe an 1/8th".
-
I recently picked up a set of the aluminum drums. Haven't got around to cleaning them up for install. Different thickness never even crossed my mind and I already have 1/4 inch spacers on the rear wheels
-
Thanks Brad my T wheels would work perfect with steel drums 3 3/4 back space. The aluminum drums I have came off a camaro and had 1/8 GM spacers with them.

Looks good! How are you finding the new cooler? Do you think there is a big difference?

I'm not getting the heat soak I got with the stretched SLIC. The car's been running consistent 7.3's in the 1/8th with very little cool down time between runs.. I'm not advocating FMIC's...but it works best for what I'm doing. I also went to race gas this year. Easier to tune...at least for me.
